Great rest area. Good toilets and tables
We stopped in this rest area hoping to setup for the night. This is a great rest area, long way from road elevated high, great views, undercover tables, toilet block, rubbish bins, views of the mountains an valleys. Unfortunately for us bees were swarming to attack us even moving they still followed. There drove us out that night.
An absolutely amazing free camp. Take a walk around the 4x4 track as it meanders to the very top of the mountain. You will need to be reasonably fit and have good footwear as the track surface can be reasonably slippery in some sections Take water with you as well as sunscreen and hat. Well worth the visit.
We have stayed here a number of times and find it a great overnight stop. We have been there when it is packed and also when we were the only campers. Not much Road noise and everyone is cognizant of the need to be quiet. I have found that we can always find someone to talk to which makes the travelling more interesting as you share travelling experiences. Never to old to learn about something new. Good toilet facilities.
